International Bulletin: United for Rojava
United for Rojava
The events are unfolding rapidly at the beginning of this year. The revolution of Rojava, the heart of the Kurdish revolution, is once again confronted with a large-scale offensive, a “second ISIS assault.” However, this time, the geopolitical situation is much more complex than during the first defense of Kobanê.
While the four parts of Kurdistan Rojava, Başûr, Bakur, and Rojhilat stand firm, progressive forces around the world are showing that Rojava is not alone. People in Europe and across the globe are rising to show their solidarity with the revolution in Rojava. This solidarity is palpable everywhere, and an indispensable mass mobilization includes both the four parts of Kurdistan in an unprecedented national unity as well as the international solidarity movement.
The lines are clear: The US and EU imperialists, Zionists, jihadist gangs, colonialists, and occupying forces have united and divided Syria according to their interests, aiming to destroy the revolution of Rojava and erase its achievements. Even though the revolution has been forced to withdraw from key positions, the people in Rojava have once again said, “Enough is enough,” and from young to old, they have taken up the revolutionary mobilization.
The US and the Turkish colonial state are the main actors in this destructive offensive. The Turkish state and HTS (Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham) are the executing forces of these attacks. This offensive was carried out with the approval of Zionist Israel, which has negotiated with HTS in Paris over their interests in Syria. The UK, France, and Germany are supporters of these attacks. Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states are those who publicly and media-wise support the genocidal attacks of HTS.
What is happening in Rojava is not a sudden scenario of attack. Since the power in the Syrian state was handed over to the HTS gangs and their leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, it was only a matter of time before the two irreconcilable sides would clash. The incompatibility between the HTS-led Syria and the revolutionary Autonomous Administration of Rojava is obvious.
The Turkish colonial state has been fighting for the annihilation of the Rojava revolution since its first days, militarily, politically, and diplomatically. As one of the states that protect, supply, and support HTS, the Turkish state is doing everything in its power to crush the revolution alongside HTS.
With the takeover of power by HTS and the shift in the Syrian position in favor of the US and the EU, the US stance toward the SDF (QSD – Syrian Democratic Forces) also changed. From the very beginning, the US did not recognize the Autonomous Administration of Rojava politically and only entered into a temporary military alliance with the SDF. The destruction of the Assad regime and HTS’s willingness to join the anti-ISIS coalition led to a strategy to integrate and dissolve the SDF under HTS’s control.
Israel, which has annexed the Golan Heights and considers southern Syria its own sphere of influence, consented to HTS’s rule. Initially, some Israeli politicians made statements of protection for Kurdish achievements, trying to exploit various contradictions in the region for their own Greater Israel ambitions. However, after the attacks on the Kurdish quarters in Aleppo and the subsequent large-scale offensive, they fell silent.
The US plans to divide northern Syria under Turkish control and southern Syria under Israeli control to rebuild Syria as a centralized state controlled by them.
Syria’s Role in US Middle East Policy and Rojava
Recently, US Special Envoy Tom Barrack called for moderation, while simultaneously supporting the dismantling of the revolution.
The US has set out to break the alliance between Iran, Russia, and China and bring the remaining states under its control. Iran plays a key role in this. Should Iran break away from this block, Russia could be neutralized, and China further encircled. The existential crisis of capitalism deepens, and the contradictions between capitalist states are escalating. These contradictions will inevitably lead to economic, political, and military confrontations, ranging from control over markets, energy sources, and supply chains to rare resources.
The Middle East plays a crucial role in this strategy, as the US seeks complete control over the region. They are focused on dismantling Iran’s presence in the region as the first step to neutralizing the influence of Iran and its allies. In this context, the attempts to eliminate Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as all forces standing in their way, can be understood. HTS is now a useful tool for the plans of US imperialism.
On January 6, talks took place in Paris, attended by representatives of Israel, HTS, and the US. The goal was to divide Syria between Israeli and Turkish influence and destroy the Rojava revolution. At the same time, the offensive against Rojava began. While the Turkish state actively intervened in the attacks, the US called for Kurdish forces to return. Europe and the US supported the military attacks financially and politically.
The Peace Process in Turkey and Rojava
The fascist Turkish government is attempting to secure regional hegemony to prevent Israel from becoming the sole dominant power. In this geopolitical game, fascist President Erdoğan has been guided by US policies.
The Turkish government has failed to achieve its goals in the fight against the PKK. As a result, the “process” with Abdullah Öcalan aimed to disarm and neutralize the Kurdish military forces and their political rights.
With the transformation of Syria through the overthrow of the Assad regime, an opportunity arose for Turkey to destroy the Rojava revolution. The HTS offensive against Rojava and the attempt to change the status quo are part of this strategy. This is especially evident in the attacks on the Kurdish quarters in Aleppo. In an earlier agreement, autonomy and self-defense for the Kurdish regions were secured, but the SDF reluctantly had to withdrew from some areas. The attack on these areas was the beginning of a large-scale assault on the Autonomous Administration. It marked the first step toward the destruction of the achievements of the Rojava revolution. On January 6, the day the HTS gangs, coordinated and supported by the fascist Turkish regime, launched their first attacks in Aleppo, the chairman of the MHP (Nationalist Movement Party), Devlet Bahçeli, threatened in parliament to dismantle the SDF. Bahçeli spoke in this context about a “terror-free Turkey” and a “terror-free zone,” calling for the complete disarmament and dissolution of the SDF. At the same time, Bahçeli demanded the dispatch of a parliamentary delegation to the Imralı Island to directly ask Abdullah Öcalan for the disarmament of the SDF.
The Challenge and the Resistance
The revolution of Rojava is once again at a historic turning point. Since the start of the revolution on July 19, 2012, it has repeatedly been the target of attacks. The reason for this lies in the unique, internationalist, and women-liberating nature of this revolution.
The resistance in Rojava and the renewed mobilization across Kurdistan showed that the revolution is still alive. Even in the most difficult moments, the people found new ways of resistance and reignited the revolutionary energy. The growing solidarity and determination of the people in Rojava and Kurdistan are a strong sign of resistance against imperialist and colonial aggression.
On January 18, the SDF announced their readiness to adhere to an agreed ceasefire. However, the Turkish state and its partners in the dismantling of the revolution will not rest and will continue to push for complete capitulation. Imperialists will use this moment to impose subjugating agreements. The dangers are great.
The revolutionary resilience in Rojava, however, is a living flame of hope that inspires people around the world. It is the duty of all progressive forces to nourish, protect, and spread this flame – as a symbol of resistance against imperialism and oppression. For the resistance today, which stands against the colonial and imperialist offensive, is not only about the East and West of the Euphrates but also represents a general resistance against US policies.

Resistance Against Fascist Colonial Attacks in Syria
Solidarity with the January Uprising in Iran!
Demonstrations, marches, occupations, resistance, and boycotts for freedom, justice, and dignity!
The fascist, chauvinist, and misogynistic HTS has declared war in Aleppo, specifically in Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiye, on the Kurdish people, the Rojava Revolution, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and all the progressive, democratic, and revolutionary achievements and demands in Syria.
The HTS regime, which pursues a policy of submissive collaboration with the fascist-colonialist Turkish bourgeois state and Israel in their occupation of Syria and Rojava, is establishing a fascist colonial rule. This rule targets the Kurdish population, Arab groups of Alawite faith, Druze, as well as Assyrian, Chaldean, Syrian, and Armenian communities. An order based on denial, subjugation, and disenfranchisement is being imposed on these people.
While HTS claims to be ready for an agreement with the SDF, it simultaneously proclaims the “Syrian Arab Army” as the only legitimate state armed force. In doing so, it follows the same agenda as the fascist-colonialist Turkish bourgeois state: the imposition of denial, unitarism, and national homogenization.
The attack on Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiye in Aleppo, where hundreds of thousands of Kurds live, is actively supported by the denialist, colonialist Turkish bourgeois state. The statements by the foreign minister of the palace regime, the fascist Hakan Fidan, an outspoken enemy of the national-democratic demands of the Kurds and the Kurdish people’s desire for freedoml, as well as those from the Ministry of Defense, are not merely expressions of racist colonial arrogance. They are an open admission that the fascist regime has encouraged the HTS to commit genocide and massacres.
We Salute the January Uprising in Iran and Rojhilat
We salute the renewed uprising in Iran and Rojhilat and its anti-fascist and revolutionary demands.
We call on the Kurdish, Persian, Azerbaijani, and Baloch peoples to unite in the struggle for freedom, justice, and national and gender equality.
We call for the rejection of the plans of fascist enemies of the world’s peoples, such as Trump and Netanyahu, towards Iran.
We call for the establishment of city, district, and neighborhood councils, for organization, and for the struggle for freedom, justice, the equality of nations and women, and independence from imperialism.
We call for the uprising to be extended for a union of people’s republics throughout Iran, Rojhilat, and Balochistan.
Our Call to the Peoples of the Region and the World
In particular, we address the peoples of North and South Kurdistan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus, as well as workers, women, youth, the poor, intellectuals, and artists from all corners of the world:
Rise up against the racist colonialist attacks and massacres carried out by the fascist-Islamist HTS, supported and encouraged by the Turkish bourgeois state. Support the resistance in Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiye. Organize actions to greet the resurgence of the revolution in Iran and Rojhilat. Protest against the governments of Syria, Turkey, the US, and Israel.

Stand Up Against Occupation and War with the Spirit of the Sheikh Maqsood Resistance Fighters
The districts of Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiye in Aleppo have been under joint attack for days by the patriarchal, jihadist, fascist, and colonialist regimes of Damascus and Turkey. The Sultan Murat, Amshat, and Hamza brigades, which have been trained, organized, and funded by the Turkish colonial state for years, are participating in these occupation attacks. Combat drones belonging to the fascist Turkish state were also deployed in the siege and attack, which involved over 40,000 gang members, more than a hundred tanks, and over 400 armored vehicles. The armed forces of the fascist Turkish colonial state and the MIT directly organized the attack. The goal is to crush the Kurdish democratic self-defense forces, dismantle their organization, and break their spirit and practice of resistance.
The Turkish colonial state and the colonialist war media of HTS are spreading propaganda claiming that “two neighborhoods have been liberated.” But who are you? Who are you liberating, and from whom? For years, Kurds, Arabs, Syrians, Armenians, Sunnis, and Christians have lived together peacefully in these neighborhoods. You are the occupiers, looters, rapists, and murderers. You are the ones attacking mosques, churches, hospitals, and schools! You are the ones torturing the wounded! You are the ones kidnapping women and selling them in markets! You are the ones uprooting olive trees and hauling them away! You have committed countless crimes! Netanyahu razed Gaza to the ground, murdered thousands of Palestinians, killed resistance fighters, and said, “We have liberated Gaza.” Trump kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores and said, “We have liberated Venezuela.” The same imperialists, the same occupiers, and the same murderers. You are all the same! You are the curse of the peoples. You will do anything to become the masters of the colonialist, capitalist, patriarchal world.
But this will not last. None of you will succeed in overcoming the resistant, organized, and fighting oppressed peoples and women.
The resistance movement that began in Iran, led by women, has reignited in all provinces. Rojhilat, Rojava, Bakur, and Başur are the four parts of Kurdistan. The people of Rojava are defending their revolution, while Rojhilat is preparing for its own.
The vanguards of our people are offering selfless resistance. In Sheikh Maqsood, comrades Faraşîn, Denîz, Rojbîn, and Hawar have carried out acts of sacrifice against patriarchal, fascist, and jihadist gangs.
Ziyad Heleb, one of the leaders of the Sheikh Maqsood resistance, said: “We are ready to sacrifice ourselves when the time comes.”
We are a people like this. We are part of a noble tradition of resistance.
From Kobane to Tishreen to Sheikh Maqsood, we resist. We have never surrendered. We have never been brought to our knees. We have fallen for our honor and freedom when necessary. We are ready to give our lives. We honor our revolutionary martyrs and express our condolences to our peoples.
We salute the resistance fighters of Sheikh Maqsood. Today, the four parts of Kurdistan are united as one heart.
We call on the people of Turkey to rise up with the spirit of the Kobanê resistance against the war and occupation attacks of the colonialist Turkish state.
We call on all the peoples of the region and the world to stand with the Kurdish people and oppose the ISIS gangs and the Turkish state, which supports them with all its might and actively participates in the war.
Long live our resistance in Sheikh Maqsood!
Long live our revolution in Rojava!
Long live free Kurdistan!
Down with the patriarchal Turkish colonial state and the government in Damascus!

Our Call to All Oppressed Peoples: Unite Around the Rojava Revolution!
Rojava is Kurdistan. Today, all of Kurdistan has become Rojava. In response to the call of the revolution in Rojava, above all young women and men, but also our entire people, have risen once again in the spirit of the Serhildan of Kobanê. Eleven years ago, when the fascist chief Erdoğan declared, “Kobanê is about to fall,” all of Kurdistan rose up against him and his imitators, against the occupying, looting, and raping ISIS gangs, whether in uniform or in suits. Our working peoples in Turkey and throughout the diaspora stand shoulder to shoulder with Rojava.
We salute our fighters of the QSD, YPG, and YPJ, the revolutionary communists and internationalist fighters who hold their positions and deny the enemy any passage. We salute our people who, from the ages of 7 to 70, have joined the resistance and taken up arms.
The fascist Turkish colonial state and the collaborating ISIS gangs, who know no limits in their hostility toward the Kurds and Kurdistan, will find no way through. Capitulation is being imposed on us, but it will never be accepted. They seek to force us to our knees, yet we stand upright. The dignity of the Kurdish people and our bond with our martyrs will never be tarnished. We have placed our trust in the peoples. We trust in our own strength and in all working peoples and friends whose hearts beat with ours. We repeat it once more: a people that becomes an army and organizes itself is invincible and will not capitulate.
All coalition powers, foremost among them the imperialist US, have consented to the liquidation of the Rojava Revolution. It is evident that they continue to adhere to the logic and plans of Lausanne. Their masks have fallen. But the Kurdish people and Kurdistan are no longer what they once were. They have accumulated enough experience to no longer be deceived. No one expects anything from the imperialists, from the chief bandit Trump and his accomplice Tom Barrack, and no one should. The sole objective of imperialism is domination, hegemony, and the regional imperial order that follows from it. Assad has fallen, Iran’s wings have been broken and encircled, and Israel’s security has been guaranteed. The second-largest NATO army and the geostrategically useful Turkish colonial state are their preferred partners. From them, the peoples can never expect anything.
Once again, the Turkish colonial occupation army and the ISIS gangs will see that Rojava is insurmountable. The Rojava Revolution will not capitulate. Resistance will be waged city by city, street by street. We call on all women to unite against patriarchal, fascist, and colonialist attacks and to rally around the women’s revolution. The people who have gathered around the Rojava Revolution must continue their resistance in the spirit of mobilization. The attack is strategic; the resistance must be strategic as well, continuous and unwavering.
Long live the armed popular resistance of Kobanê and Cizîrê!
Long live the Rojava Revolution!
Long live free Kurdistan!

The Women’s Revolution and the World Reaction Have Entered the Struggle.
Today is the day! Tomorrow could be too late! Rise up!
The entire patriarchal capitalist system, along with its imperialist, colonialist, fascist, and jihadist representatives, have united against our Women’s Revolution. The unstoppable conflict between this system and the Women’s Revolution has ignited an open, total war in Rojava. Today, Rojava is the front line in the fight for women’s freedom. And this struggle is brutal. Women, including communists, are joining forces with revolutionary, patriotic fighters in an immense resistance. All of Rojava is a battlefield today. Women of all ages, from 7 to 70 years old, have positioned themselves, city by city, street by street. This revolution has been fought with great sacrifices to this day. Thousands of women have fallen or been injured to hold this ground, but they have kept their determination to defend it under any circumstances.
In Rojava and Raqqa, HTS-ISIS are striking back in their revenge because they fear the women’s resistance and respond with even greater brutality. What they did to the body of Deniz, whose resistance they couldn’t break for days, and what they did to the captured fighters in Raqqa, cutting their hair, is a clear sign of the deep enmity they hold toward them. But they will not break our honor or our resistance. Socialist-patriotic women are holding their ground. We will defend our honor and our resistance to the end, until our last breath.
We know this from Shengal, Kobanê, Serêkanîyê, Afrin, Hama, Homs, and Latakia. We are resisting these colonialist enemies of women today stronger than ever, and we will not let up in the future.
We call to all women of the world!
Make every place you are a stronghold of support for Rojava. If the Women’s Revolution in Rojava falls, not only the women there, but all women worldwide will lose their vanguard position in the struggle for freedom and equality.
Overcome borders, take a stand, occupy, boycott, block roads.
Every braid that is woven into the hair as a sign of solidarity between women is now an arrow that strikes the heart of the enemy. Do everything you can to strengthen solidarity. We take all your acts of solidarity and activities deeply to heart and promise the women that through this, we will resist even more powerfully.
Long live our Women’s Revolution!
Long live women’s solidarity!
Long live international solidarity!
MLKP/Communist Women’s Organization Kurdistan
Long live the resistance of the peoples of Iran and Rojhilat!
Down with the fascist, reactionary, misogynistic mullah dictatorship!
The spirit of the “Jin Jiyan Azadi” revolution, which is directed against patriarchy, compulsory veiling, and the misogynistic laws and regulations of the Islamic Republic, lives on in the actions of the Persians, Kurds, Azerbaijanis, Baluchis, Armenians, Gilaks, Assyrians, Ahwazis, and all oppressed peoples.
On December 28, the sharp decline in the value of the Iranian currency, the rial, against the dollar in the Iranian capital Tehran was the last straw that broke the camel’s back. Traders closed their shops and took to the streets. This sparked a new popular movement. The protests spread to 35 cities and continue to this day, including in the cities of Kuhdasht, Azna, and Lordegan in Lorestan Province, Mervdesht, Fasa, Shiraz, Isfahan, Kermanshah, Khuzestan, Hamadan, Babol, Qom, and Yesuc, cities where the mullah regime is ideologically and politically strongest, as well as in the capital Tehran, Tabriz, Zanjan, Necefabad, Ramhormoz, Dehloran, and on the island of Kish.
Over the past twenty years, the population, especially the youth, has repeatedly risen up and challenged the mullah regime. However, their greatest weakness was that they were unable to develop a unified leadership and a unified line of struggle. They put pressure on the mullah regime, but were unable to overthrow it. In order to focus their widespread and effective actions on a single goal, the formation of a revolutionary, democratic united front is of paramount importance. The peoples of Iran, Kurdistan, Baluchistan, and Azerbaijan have great experience and competence in struggle. We know that they have the strength to achieve their goal.
The bandit Trump and US imperialism, as well as Israeli Zionism, are trying to manipulate this popular uprising. These bandits are of no benefit whatsoever to our people. Their supposed expressions of support are pure deception. What they did in Venezuela because of oil and valuable mineral resources is obvious. They are mafiosi. They are exploiters who are trying to destroy the world.
The propaganda for the overthrow of the mullah regime and the Shah’s takeover is very dangerous. The Iranian people know the Shah, whom they overthrew in 1979, and his heirs very well. On the streets, they say: “Neither the mullah regime nor the Shah!”
We stand with the oppressed nations and peoples in their struggle for freedom, equality, voluntary unity, and a dignified life.
You have not been able to bring the peoples to their knees with executions, massacres, and arrests, and you will not succeed in the future either!
We call on all the peoples of Kurdistan and the region to join the struggle of the Iranian peoples for equality and freedom.
We call on women and peoples to unite under the slogans “Death to Khamenei!”, “Jin Jiyan Azadi!”, “Death to the dictator!”, “Death to the Islamic Republic!” to stand together and rebel in order to lead the struggle for Iranian rights and women to victory and fuel the fire of rebellion.
We call on all women and oppressed people to raise together the torch of dignity, freedom, and equality that the peoples of Iran have lit despite prisons, death, and massacres to put an end to the dark dictatorship of the fascist mullahs.
Azadi! Azadi! Azadi!
The peoples who resist and fight will prevail!
Long live the united struggle of the peoples!

Let us raise our voices against US imperialism, the fascist Trump, and his accomplices!
Free Maduro and Flores and apologize to the Venezuelan people!
Year: 2026
No. 1
US imperialism, which has committed very severe, unforgettable, and unforgivable crimes against the working class and oppressed peoples, especially in Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East, but also worldwide, has committed yet another atrocity under the fascist Trump administration. It launched an airstrike on Venezuela, cut off the power supply to the capital, and kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores.
With his statement regarding this imperialist arrogance and fascist aggression, the fascist Trump has profoundly insulted the Venezuelan people and, by extension, all peoples of the world who carry within their hearts the fire of freedom, dignity, and independence from imperialism. After Trump previously announced his intention to turn Gaza into a Trump construction and tourism center, he now declared that the US would take control of Venezuela and that he would offer Venezuelan oil to US monopolies. The words of this fascist, plunderer, and proponent of genocide in Gaza, who also instigates an imperialist world war, make the true meaning and intent behind the US imperialist assault on Venezuela so glaringly clear that no amount of slick demagoguery can conceal it.
The fascist leader Tayyip Erdoğan quickly forgot his words, “my friend Maduro.” Instead, he chose to act as cowardly as a field mouse toward the Trump administration. He is now a mute devil.
M. Corina Machado, who appeared on behalf of the bourgeois opposition in Venezuela, and Argentine President Javier Milei, along with others like them, applauded US imperialism as fascist collaborators.
The EU states and Britain, which welcomed Ahmed al-Sharaa, one of the perpetrators of the suffering inflicted by ISIS in Iraq and Syria, into the so-called “temples of democracy” in Europe, now attempt to justify the fascist Trump under the pretext that Maduro prevented democratic elections. This is the same Trump who transformed Gaza into a children’s graveyard. Now, these powers are trying to excuse the crimes of fascist Trump, who cozies up to the blood-soaked genocidal Netanyahu.
In light of all this, it is high time to raise the flags of dignity, justice, and freedom.
It is a matter of honor that the workers who bear the weight of the world on their shoulders and all the oppressed who suffer under the imperialist-capitalist patriarchal world, condemned to social injustice, gender discrimination, colonial oppression, poverty, and the deep suffering and hopelessness that accompany them, raise their voices against this fascist intervention.
To remain silent or neutral regarding Maduro’s governance style, his understanding of communal socialism, or any other arguments, is nothing less than to cover up this blatant, brazen imperialist and colonialist crime committed by US imperialism and fascist Trump, thereby contributing to its legitimization.
All parties, trade unions, women’s organizations, student associations, professional groups, environmental movements, and various solidarity organizations from around the world, especially from Turkey and Kurdistan, that define themselves as communist, revolutionary, anti-fascist, anti-imperialist, and progressive, and that stand on the side of the oppressed, must demonstrate in front of US embassies, in public spaces, in working-class neighborhoods, and on university campuses. They must use all available forms of action and protest to loudly and clearly raise the demand: “Free Maduro and Flores! Apologize to the Venezuelan people!”
Down with US imperialism! Down with Trump fascism!
US imperialism will be defeated, and the resistant peoples will triumph!
Long live the international struggle of the working class and the oppressed worldwide!

Expanding the Struggle for Women’s Freedom with the KKÖ in its 11th Year!
Year: 2026 | Issue: 1
The Communist Women’s Organization (KKÖ) marks its 11th year of revolutionary struggle.
The Communist Women’s Organization (KKÖ) was founded on January 7, 2015, during the 1st Communist Women’s Conference, which took place from January 3 to 7, 2015, under the slogan “Forward to women’s uprising, women’s organization, women’s leadership!” The official founding was announced on March 8 of the same year. The KKÖ was established with the goal of creating a revolutionary center for women, one that advocates for women’s freedom, supports their struggle, and works toward a genderless, classless, and borderless society.
The KKÖ represents the aspiration of communist women to fight in all areas of the revolutionary struggle, bringing forward their organized, collective gender identity. It seeks to form revolutionary leadership for the women’s revolution, developing the fight for women’s freedom with a collective consciousness based on gender consciousness.
From trade unions to democratic and anti-fascist mass organizations, from practical-legitimate resistance and strikes to demonstrations, from panel discussions and symposia to armed combat organizations, women are increasingly becoming subjects, participating collectively and organized in all areas of social struggle and revolutionary power. The KKÖ was created by communist women fighting for their organization and standards of gender equality and freedom, so that women, rather than being individual revolutionary women within the Communist Party, would organize as a collective subject.
The KKÖ embodies the search for a revolutionary path by women and for women!
Eleven years ago, the KKÖ was founded as an expression of communist women’s desire to develop the program, strategy, and revolutionary leadership of the women’s revolution. The goal was to “understand and apply women’s leadership as mass leadership, to establish the women’s revolution as a political movement, and to combine ideological education and political experience with political advancement.”
The KKÖ emerged as a response to the MLKP’s desire to break free from the crude egalitarianism that had characterized gender liberation discussions until then. It arose from years of political experience, where the needs, aspirations, and goals of women’s struggles were fully integrated into the daily struggles, sometimes alongside the party, sometimes in women’s organizations. The KKÖ is the product of positive discrimination in cadre policy and conscious female cadre training, especially among young MLKP members. The KKÖ’s development has been shaped by political, organizational, and programmatic decisions made at three KKÖ conferences over these eleven years. It has continued its work based on its statutes.
The KKÖ is the will and consciousness to organize men as individuals against women and women as a collective force against men within the ranks of the Communist Party in order to fight from the strongest position against patriarchy. The KKÖ represents a break with the crudely egalitarian understanding of gender liberation that, in the international communist and revolutionary movement, views women not as a collective force against the patriarchal capitalist order, but as individuals; not as equal collective partners in revolutionary power, but as a reserve force of the revolution; and postpones women’s liberation until after the revolution.
At the same time, however, it is the strong will to preserve and advance the legacy of communist women leaders from Zetkin to Luxemburg, Kolontai, and Armand, to defend the revolutionary legacy of the October Revolution and the liberating achievements of the people’s revolutions in Albania, China, Bulgaria, Cuba, and countless other countries for women, and to shape the future on the basis of this revolutionary heritage and its forces and experiences.
The KKÖ is the search for a revolutionary path by women and for women. It is the organization of female workers of the Turkish and Kurdish peoples and other national communities who are fighting against double exploitation; of young women who are forced to choose between ‘accepted femininity’ and ‘free femininity’ and to lead a life of slavery under patriarchy; of intellectuals, artists, and scientists whose experiences and achievements are devalued, ignored, or even stolen by patriarchal standards; women from the national communities of Kurds, Arabs, Circassians, Armenians, Bosnians, Greeks, Laz, Syrians, Chaldeans, and Roma, who experience the harshest consequences of colonial, denialist, and racist policies.
The KKÖ has advanced for eleven years under the uninterrupted attacks of the patriarchal regime!
Since its founding, the Communist Women’s Organization has asserted itself with the determination to carry on the banner, despite constant attacks by the patriarchal fascist regime, despite uninterrupted struggles, arrests, and terror, and despite the deaths of its comrades.
The eleven years of the KKÖ have been marked by an uninterrupted struggle against the patriarchal-fascist regime. Shortly after its founding, with the palace coup that began with the Suruç attack on July 20, 2015, attempts were made to institutionalize the fascist regime, while women, the Kurdish people, workers, the urban poor, Alevis, and various national communities were to be oppressed and crushed with unbridled state violence. Women were one of the driving forces in the resistance against the fascist regime, but the Istanbul Convention was repealed overnight by the palace, male violence and massacres increased, and women’s protests were met with police terror and arrests. In Rojava, women’s revolutionary achievements were threatened by war and siege, and hundreds of women were thrown into prisons. Throughout all these years, from March 8 to November 25, from practical legitimate resistance to armed struggle, the KKÖ has worked in all areas to strengthen women’s organization and women’s freedom.
From actions and campaigns against femicide and massacres to the defense and construction of the Rojava Revolution, the women of the KKÖ have fought on the front lines in all areas of the struggle.
Our immortals are symbols of our history of struggle!
In these eleven difficult years of struggle against the patriarchal state and the fascist chief regime, we have bid farewell to 21 comrades of the KKÖ. Our immortals are symbols that embody the KKÖ’s understanding of struggle, its methods of struggle, and its existence in all areas of the struggle. From their birthplaces to the places and forms in which they became immortal, they are representatives of the revolutionary goals of the KKÖ.
Twenty-one comrades, Kurdish, Turkish, Circassian, African, born in Turkey, Bakur, Rojava, and Germany, have become immortal in training camps preparing for war, on the Rojava front, in urban guerrilla quarters, through the Suruç-Pirsus massacre by the fascist chief regime, in the mountains of Dersim, and in exile.
Our immortals are the flags of faith that proclaim “We were, we are, we will be” in all areas of struggle, a manifesto of determination to walk through the gates of sacrifice for the longing for equality, freedom, and justice for women and all of humanity. They are the symbols of the revolutionary principles of the KKÖ.
The KKÖ is here to fight against the patriarchal fascist regime!
The male gender defends its domination over women with the coercive means of the bourgeois state, from which it derives its power. The entire power of capital, including the media, the education system, working conditions, the wage system, the state, the judiciary, the courts, parliament, the army, and the police, works to maintain patriarchy.
The fascist regime is determined to curtail all the rights women have won, such as the Istanbul Convention, to consolidate patriarchy on a political-Islamist basis, to erase women’s identity and demands from the political struggle, even to replace the term “woman” with “family,” and to silence women’s struggle for their freedom. In the coming period, which has been declared the “Decade of the Family,” this aggression will continue to escalate: women are to be pushed out of public life and off the streets, male violence is rewarded as the most important everyday means of oppressing women in a patriarchal family order, and women are to be trained as tools for gaining additional labor for exploitation by capital and as soldiers for implementing the colonial and occupation policies of the state. Rojin Kabaiş, who has become a symbol of male violence and murders that are to be covered up as “suspicious deaths,” the female workers murdered in Dilovası, the systematic sexual harassment at the heart of parliament due to MESEM exploitation, these are just a few examples of this policy.
The KKÖ exists to raise the struggle against the patriarchal fascist regime, which has declared war on the concept of “equality”, grinds justice into dust in the gears of its policy of impunity and imposes a life of imprisonment and boundless slavery instead of freedom.
The KKÖ exists to be the voice of justice for women murdered by men and to fight for their justice.
The KKÖ exists to fight for the freedom of Kurdistan, to fight side by side with Kurdish women for their national and democratic demands, and to defend the Rojava Revolution.
It exists to devote itself to the struggle to overthrow those who want to turn women into obedient machines, who are crushed in the exploitative machines of capital with MESEM and its offshoots, and who are supposed to produce soldiers for colonial, predatory interests.
The KKÖ exists to break the monopoly of men over all instruments of politics, even by means of violence.
The KKÖ fights for the women’s revolution!
The struggle for a women’s revolution that abolishes gender differences and opposes the patriarchal, capitalist, and colonialist system as well as the fascist regime is the true path to women’s liberation!
From Jina Amini and Romina Tejerina to the women who sparked uprisings in places where the patriarchal system struck violently.
From Sakine Cansız and Ka Malaya to the women who challenged male domination with their female identity in the revolutionary movement worldwide.
From comrades Şengül, İsmihan, Aynur, Zeynep, Kutsiye, Rezan, Yasemin, Sibel, İvana, Büşra, Hatice Ezgi, Ece, Aydan, Duygu, Polen, Ferdane, Şirin, Yeliz, Sevda, Berfu, Medine, Ayşe Deniz, Şevin, Elif, İlkay, Elende, Okan, Ayten and Leyla to the women who fight tirelessly for their rights.
To the women of the world, Turkey, and Kurdistan, to the working class and the oppressed peoples:
We, the KKÖ, declare our unconditional struggle against the patriarchal system, imperialist capitalism, colonialism, and fascism.
We will demand accountability for the women who were defenseless and left alone when they were killed by men. At the same time, we will continue the struggle for equality, freedom, and justice. We stand firmly united with the aspirations of those women who became immortal in their resistance against patriarchy.
We call on all women, day and night, at home and on the streets, in production and exchange, in political and social life, in culture and art, in the production of knowledge and science, all those who demand an equal share in all these areas and dream of a society without gender segregation, to support us and join the KKÖ to overthrow the patriarchal system and advance the women’s revolution.
Long live the KKÖ in its 11th year!
Long live the MLKP for the victory of the revolution!
Long live the Women’s Revolution! Long live socialism!
