Let’s Strengthen the Struggle for the National and Democratic Rights of the Kurdish People!
For 26 years, Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan has been held in special isolation on Imralı Island. He issued a “Call for Peace and a Democratic Society,” declaring his historical responsibility to end the armed struggle and dissolve the armed forces, in order to create conditions that recognize the fundamental democratic rights and freedoms of both the Kurdish and Turkish peoples. He called on the PKK to convene an extraordinary congress to decide on this matter. According to this call, he stated that new practical steps could only be made through political and legal arrangements by the state and that Turkey could not solve its ongoing crisis without democratic changes and transformations.
As the MLKP, we maintain our unwavering position that the Kurdish people’s right to national freedom, equality, and national unity is indispensable, and we declare our support for the national democratic demands raised by the “Call for Peace and a Democratic Society.” We call on the oppressed millions of the Kurdish and Turkish peoples, along with the national communities of Arabs, Circassians, Armenians, Greeks, Bosnians, Pomaks, Assyrians, Chaldeans, Albanians, Roma, Lazs, Georgians, and Azerbaijanis, as well as Muslims, Christians, Jews, Alevites, and Yazidis, to raise the united struggle for the following demands: the immediate declaration of a ceasefire by the fascist colonialist government of Tayyip Erdoğan, the release of Abdullah Öcalan and all political prisoners, the end of colonial attacks, the end of the occupation of Rojava and Başûr, the constitutional and legal recognition of the Kurdish people’s right to national existence and the right to education in their mother tongue, and the repeal of the fascist colonial Anti-Terror Law.
We invite all revolutionary and consistent antifascist forces of our peoples to take a stand against the chauvinist TKP and other social chauvinists who greeted the demand for ending the armed struggle within the framework of the “Call for Peace and a Democratic Society” with jubilation. They label the fact that all achievements of the Kurdish people in North Kurdistan were attained through boundless sacrifices in the armed struggle, under the leadership of the guerrillas, embodied by tens of thousands of immortals, “terror,” and the national democratic demands of the Kurdish people as “separatism.”
We strongly emphasize that the view in the “Call for Peace and a Democratic Society,” which states, “There is no path outside of democracy for system searches and implementations. There cannot be. Democratic consensus is the fundamental method,” is incompatible with the reality of polarization between oppressors and the oppressed, the rich and the poor, the rulers and the oppressed peoples in Turkey, Kurdistan, and worldwide. In a world where the ruling class, through their state apparatuses, hold the monopoly on violence, have access to the means of violence, are armed to the teeth, fascistize state apparatuses, and divide the world with blood and fire, it is impossible for the working class, women, oppressed peoples, and workers without armed struggle and revolutionary mass violence to achieve their basic demands, gain freedom, and create a just, humane world.
The MLKP will continue the fight for freedom against the fascist regime, denialist colonialism, the patriarchal system, capitalist exploitation, and imperialism, for the Union of the People’s Republics of Turkey and Kurdistan, for the Democratic and Socialist Federation in the Middle East, and for the war for socialism, using all means and forms of struggle.

Down with the Trustees! Down with the Trusteeship Regime!
Everywhere is Van, everywhere is resistance!
The regime of Tayyip Erdoğan continues its attacks on the collective national and democratic demands, rights, and achievements of the Kurdish people. The fascist leader declares that there is no Kurdish national identity, that the popular revolutionary national status of Rojava must be destroyed, that the armed national forces must be eradicated through massacres, and that the Kurdish people must be permanently deprived of their national rights and left as a enslaved, imprisoned people. He imposes death sentences on those who demand more than individual rights.
Under the guise of “Islam” and the “Muslim Ummah,” Tayyip Erdoğan has placed himself at the top of the list of the damned, practicing the most ruthless and vile forms of racism. His fascist regime tries to suppress and silence the patriotic Kurdish people, who are resisting the de facto abolition of elections through the trusteeship system in North Kurdistan, with fascist colonial state terror. Supported by fighter jets, drones, tanks, artillery, chemical weapons, the Turkish occupation army, and collaborating forces, it seeks to destroy the national democratic movement in the Medya Defense Zones and in Rojava and to solidify its colonial rule.
At the same time, the fascist regime continues its attacks on the struggle of Kurdish, Turkish, Arab, Circassian, Bosnian, Laz, Armenian, Abkhazian, Georgian, Assyrian, Greek, Roma, and Chaldean workers, women, youth, intellectuals, artists, the poor, and pensioners, who are fighting for their economic, democratic, and revolutionary demands. It bans strikes, spreads fascist terror against the oppressed who resist, issue press statements, or demonstrate. Anyone who takes to the streets with democratic demands is subjected to intimidation and threatened with weapons, batons, tear gas, arrests, the courts of Akın Gürlek, and imprisonment. Through the arrest of revolutionary socialists, who are determined to defend the demands and aspirations of the working class and the oppressed, it aims to stop the growing resistance and struggle against fascism, colonialism, and patriarchy.
The terror of detention continues with antifascist journalists, activists like Ayşe Barım who participated in the Gezi uprising, progressive artists called for interrogation, media outlets critical of the palace like Halk TV being arrested, and lawsuits against İmamoğlu to intimidate and silence bourgeois opposition.
Let us stand side by side with the people of Van, who are resisting the attacks of the trusteeship, to push back this fascist colonial terror and break the shackles placed on the right to freedom of speech, press, assembly, organization, strike, demonstration, boycott, and resistance. Let us intensify the struggle against price increases, inflation, impoverishment, and unemployment, and put up a barricade against plans for new slave walls around women and femicides under the name of “family law” and “the year of the family,” in an effort to build new walls of slavery around women and to resist femicide. Let us fight for the recognition of the national democratic demands of the Kurdish people.
Let us become active in every city, district, and village, and strengthen the united resistance and struggle of the oppressed with street actions, after-work rallies demonstrations, shop and business shutdowns, night protests in neighborhoods, and boycotts. Let us strengthen the united resistance and struggle of the oppressed.
Let us organize, fight, and win against the fascist dictatorship of Tayyip Erdoğan.
Let us build the first barricade of united resistance of the oppressed against the attack of the trusteeship.

Interview with Female Fighters of the Şehit Serkan Battalion
In Syria, the Al-Qaeda-affiliated group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), led by Golani, took power with the support of imperialists and the reactionary states of the region, including the Turkish state, after Bashar al-Assad left Syria.
Since HTS took power, the intensity of the attacks on the women’s revolution of Rojava has increased. The Turkish colonial state and its Syrian National Army (SNA) continue their attacks. However, the YPJ, QSD, and communist fighters from Rojava are resisting.
The fighters of the Şehit Serkan Battalion, who are located at the fronts of Tishreen, Qereqozak, and Deyr Hefir, reported their experiences in the fight against the occupiers just before March 8.
How do you assess the attacks and resistance in your region?
Awaz: I want to begin my words in these days of resistance by honoring the immortalized fighters who gave their lives to defend the revolutionary areas and the achievements of women, as well as commemorating the fallen of the Tishreen resistance. We promise our people: their blood will not go unavenged, we will take revenge.
After the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime, the partitioning of Syrian territories has come into question. The Turkish bourgeois colonial state is attempting to secure a share of this colonial division. After the occupation of Efrîn in 2018 and the subsequent displacement of the population, who now live in Shehba, the city of Manbij was also occupied. Since December 8, the heroic resistance of the YPJ, QSD, and the fighters of the Şehit Serkan Battalion has continued along the Tishreen, Qereqozak, and Deyr Hefir line. The 60-year-old Assad regime was handed over to the HTS gangs within ten days through the intervention of the USA and Britain. Golani, once the leader of the Al-Qaeda gangs, is now presented to the world as the new leader of the Syrian regime. While the HTS and the “Golanis” are presented as moderate Islamists, the Alawite population, especially in the cities of Tartus and Latakia, is being attacked before the eyes of the whole world. Alawite women are being sexually tortured and murdered.
Amid all this, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria continues to defend its land and its resistance to protect the women’s revolution of Rojava. The Turkish colonial state, with its advanced technology, has not been able to cross the Tishreen Dam for over 60 days. The fighters of the YPJ, QSD, and the Şehit Serkan Battalion produce their own drones to counter the most advanced reconnaissance planes, defend themselves in war tunnels, and resist all difficulties with great will and determination.
On which fronts and operations has your battalion been involved so far? How do women position themselves on these fronts?
Barîn: So far, our battalion has been involved in the battles of Deyr Hefir, Qereqozak, Tishreen, and in the defense of Kobanê. As fighters, we participate in assassination and sabotage operations on these fronts. We take part in operations against the occupation gangs of the Turkish state. The resistance that we, as women, lead against the gangs has much deeper significance, as these gangs represent misogynistic ideologies.
What does it mean to stand as communist fighters on the frontlines against the occupation attacks of the Turkish state?
Awaz: As fighters, we stand with great anger and determination against the Turkish state and its gangs. It wasn’t long ago that these gangs sold Yazidi women as sex slaves in Shengal, captured and tortured wounded fighters in Manbij. We know our enemy very well. Our fight is based on this awareness.
Can you share some experiences from the fight against the Islamist gangs?
Barîn: Recently, we participated in an operation against the gangs. From the beginning, we were involved with great determination and motivation. We could hear the Takbir shouts of the gangs, as well as their screams filled with fear and pain after our bullets and mines hit them. As female fighters, we carry a grenade in our pocket during every operation. Because for all of us, one thing is clear: we will never fall alive into the hands of the enemy. No one will be able to defeat this will and determination. We know that betrayal leads to capitulation, but resistance leads to victory.
How does the great resistance of the population in Tishreen reflect in your struggle?
Barîn: The resistance here is not independent of the death-defying resistance of the population at the Tishreen Dam. Without the support of our people, the resistance that has lasted here for two months would not be so strong. We draw great strength from the resistance of our people. Our people, in turn, fight with even greater determination through the strength of our resistance. We complement each other. In fact, it is a collective popular resistance. From the children to the elderly, from women to men – the population of North and East Syria is directly connected to this resistance. This revolution has once again proven to be a revolution of the peoples.
On the eve of March 8, you are as fighters in the resistance positions. What does this mean to you?
Awaz: First of all, we congratulate all working women on March 8. I commemorate the comrade Avaşîn Tekoşin Güneş (Ivana Hoffmann), who fell on March 7, 2015, in the fight against the ISIS gangs in Tell Tamer. From here, we greet the fighters of the Avaşîn Tekoşin Battalion. We call on the women of North and East Syria to join the communist battalions of Rojava and fight for the defense of the revolution.
At the same time, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Women’s Organization (KKÖ). A militant salute to all communist women worldwide who are fighting against patriarchal capitalism, heterosexism, and fascism. The women’s revolution of Rojava fights for freedom and humanity for all women. This revolution is the light of hope for women and all the oppressed. As carriers of the fire, we strive to make the fire of the revolution burn brightly. All women must arm themselves and increase the resistance against the enemies of the revolution.
Until today, we have spoken of over five thousand years of oppression. We were murdered, we tried to make our voices heard, we were imprisoned because we defended ourselves, we were raped and blamed for it. Now women are saying: enough! Today, our courage, which defies death in Tishreen, Qereqozak, Deyr Hefir, Kobanê, and Tell Tamer, spreads to the whole world. Today, we call on all our sisters worldwide to say that our Zılgıts in Tishreen will triumph over death.
Barîn: We give each other strength as oppressed women worldwide. Whether in Turkey, Kurdistan, Europe, or anywhere in the world – every resistance by a single woman means a victory for millions of her fellow women. This year, we, as communist women, will dedicate every one of our actions on March 8 from the frontlines to the victory over fascism, colonialism, and occupation. Our March 8 will stand for victories and freedom!

Presentation of the Revolutionary Communist Movement (TKŞ) during the ICOR Middle East Webinar
As Revolutionary Communists from West Kurdistan, we begin our assessment by greeting the resistance fighters of Tishreen, Qereqozak and Gaza. The developments that took place in the Middle East on November 26-27 have been followed by everyone. It is known that the imperialists set their program for Syria and Rojava in 2014, but it could not be implemented due to the existence and resistance of the Rojava revolution. This plan, which was set ten years ago, only began to be put into action when conditions became favorable. When we look at the process of Aleppo falling into the hands of the mercenaries, we are reminded of the occupation of Mosul.
At that time, the imperialists saw the Rojava revolution as a weak force, and the fascist Turkish state immediately sought to eliminate this threat as soon es possible. For this reason, they first sent jihadist mercenaries to Western Kurdistan. However, it took some time for them to recover after facing the reality of the revolution. Because for the first time in Kurdish history, the unity of the ‘Kurdish people’ from the four parts was realized in Kobanê. The Rojava revolution received support both from within the country and abroad. The revolutionary will caused the imperialist powers to step back, even pulling them toward the revolution, and broke their stubborn line.
Therefore, the fascist Turkish state has periodically been allowed to occupy the revolutionary lands, target the revolution’s leaders through assassination attempts by the Turkish state, and try to weaken the revolution economically by destroying its infrastructure. However, our revolution resisted these policies of destruction and annihilation and defended the line of women’s revolution and democratic popular revolution. Today, nowhere in the world can women hold the same position in governance and life as they do here. And nobody cares about women’s freedom. Western imperialists pretend to defend women’s freedom in Iran, which they see as their enemy, but they don’t care about the lack of women’s rights in Saudi Arabia, which they consider an ally. Even within their own bourgeois democratic systems, it is clear how much women are dehumanized and reduced to objects. In our revolution, from top to bottom, in every area, half of social life, in governance, etc., women hold positions. Even in terms of democracy and equality of the people, there is an advanced level. On the other hand, there are mercenaries, supported by the imperialists and reactionary states in the region, who have taken control of Damascus. Although they openly declare themselves as the ‘Islamic State,’ they are presented as legitimate forces by the imperialists. But their actions are already clear, as they continue the ISIS tradition of beheading. What they have done to the Alawite and Christian people is obvious. No one should deceive themselves or justify the persecution of Alawites by claiming that they are ‘pro-BAAS!’ Undoubtedly, no state cares about this barbarism, they only care about their own interests. However, the peoples of the world, the revolutionaries of the world should not leave the people of Syria and Rojava Kurdistan alone in this situation. Do not leave us alone with the imperialists against the Turkish state and its mercenaries. The most important thing that all comrades and friends who are with us now should not forget is that, under the leadership of the Kurdish people, our revolution has reached a victorious stage after a death-or-life struggle against capitalist states! At this stage, a reactionary and Salafist regime is being established against us and they want us to surrender. They are imposing this upon us under the guise of Syrian unity. When they talk about the status of the Kurds, they say, ‘Israel will be strong, the plans of the imperialists will succeed’. This is chauvinistic and unprincipled self-deception! This state, built by the imperialists, is based on dividing and oppressing peoples. Since when are the Syrian, Jordanian, Emirati people known in the world? Weren’t all these countries the projects of the imperialists, tribes, and the Arab bourgeoisie?
But yes, for thousands of years Kurdish, Arab, Armenian, Maronite, Maronite, Assyrian, Syriac, Coptic, Druze, Berber, Baluchi, Persian and other peoples have lived together in this geography. We support the united struggle of people of Rojava and Palestine. We are in favor of the voluntary unity of all peoples, and this is possible with the ‘Union of the Democratic Republics of the Middle East.’ It is possible with the ‘People’s Democratic Republic of Syria.’ In this context, all communists and revolutionaries of the sovereign nations should approach the issue from the perspective of the future and socialist power. If all peoples and faith groups unite voluntarily, with their rights, in a federal and autonomous system in Syria, it will not serve Israel, but rather be a historic opportunity for the peoples of the region. This will also be a great threat to all capitalist states, including Israel. Because these states, whose borders are drawn by the imperialists, will disappear one by one with the willpower of the people! In this process, the stronger the coordination and unity of the revolutionaries of the Middle East and the world, the more certain the success of the future. Israel’s presence and power in the region did not start with the Kurds, nor did it grow with the Kurds. If we see Zionism and imperialism as a threat, we must first turn our attention to the despotic bourgeois regimes of the Arabs, Turks, Persians, etc. The alliance of ‘22 Arab states’ in the region could not stop Israel, but if part of Western Kurdistan gains status and becomes autonomous, Israel will benefit from this!? Whose language is this, Arab League? Isn’t the Arab League an organization of those who suck the blood of the peoples of the region and collaborate with the imperialists? However, the leadership of the Rojava revolution and we, as the Communist component, who are part of this leadership, are representing the oppressed peoples. If we see a danger here, we must be even closer to the revolution’s leaders and strengthen each other, so that the leaders of the revolution will not need the help of the imperialists and Zionists. We want to advance this revolution to socialism and spread it to the region. Our revolution is democratic and liberating for women. It grants freedom and equality to all peoples. We want autonomy for the Alawite and Druze people as much as we want it for ourselves. But as long as a Syria is built without democracy and women, no one should talk to us about Syrian unity! Ghassan Kanafani said that there can be no peace between the sword and the neck. What happened to the Alawite people is in front of our eyes, who can ask us to surrender! What we ask of you, what we ask of all revolutionaries of the region, is to join the revolution from your own places with sincerity and courage! The unity of the workers, peoples, and the oppressed will put an end to capitalism. The unity of women will bring an end to the patriarchal system based on private property. But for this, the revolutionaries of the Middle East and the world must build and strengthen their unity. What matters here is not words, but practice. The practice of revolutionaries is revolutionary! The loyality of those who call themselves revolutionaries is understood from the words they speak and their commitment to the revolution. The door to the Middle Eastern revolution has opened in Western Kurdistan; we invite all revolutionary movements: Let us pass through this door, let us protect the revolution in Rojava and Northeast Syria. Let us stand together against the Ottoman, imperialists and Zionists. All existing capitalist states are our enemies and all workers, the oppressed, working women, youth without a future, the poor are our allies. With this consciousness, we must strengthen our relations. And we must get to know each other in the practice of revolution, we must strengthen our comradeship. We salute all our comrades and friends again and wish them success. Long live the Western revolution, long live Palestine! Long live the United Revolution, long live the Democratic Federation of the Peoples of the Middle East! Long live our Women’s Revolution, long live Women’s Freedom!

Statement
Statement issued by the forces and parties participating in the webinar entitled “Developments in the Middle East: Opportunities, Risks, Challenges, and Tasks,” organized by the International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations (ICOR) – Middle East Region on February 15, 2025, and moderated by Al-Watad Socialist Party.(PPDS Tunisia)
The glorious Al-Aqsa Flood Battle marks a decisive turning point in the Palestinian people’s struggle for liberation and return to their historical land of Palestine. The historic victory achieved by the Palestinian masses—through their steadfastness, patience, resilience, and sacrifices—under the leadership of the fighting resistance factions, supported by Arab resistance in Lebanon and Yemen and backed by progressive forces worldwide, is now facing a series of challenges aimed at undermining it and preventing it from accumulating its results and impacts on the Arab and international levels.
In this context, the call by the President of the United States to displace the Palestinian people from their homeland is a dangerous escalation.
From our position of national, and international responsibility, we firmly condemn this call, which is fundamentally and substantively contrary to international law, and we emphasize the following:
1. Forced displacement violates international law: The call for displacement contradicts international law, which clearly affirms the right of occupied peoples to struggle for self-determination on their land. International law considers the forced removal of populations, whether through words or actions, as an inseparable part of the aggression practiced by colonial forces.
2. U.S. complicity in aggression. The call for displacement by President Trump is a continuation of the U.S.’s historical aggression against the Palestinian people. This aggression was evident during the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle, when the U.S. provided all types of weapons of mass destruction to the Zionist entity to continue its genocidal war against Palestinians. It was further demonstrated by violating international law when the U.S. hosted war criminal Netanyahu, who is wanted for international justice.
3. A strategy of destruction and depopulation The U.S.-Zionist forces of aggression are seeking to implement this displacement call by: Continuing the war and genocide in Gaza and the West Bank while intensifying the destruction of infrastructure. Deliberately obstructing the reconstruction of Gaza, creating conditions that push Palestinians toward forced migration.
4. The destruction of Palestinian refugee camps. Beyond their brutal crimes, the Zionist forces are engaging in systematic destruction and forced displacement of Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank. This is part of a larger conspiracy to liquidate the Palestinian cause and deny the Palestinian people their right to return. The attacks on refugee camps are clear evidence of the joint American-Zionist crime against the Palestinian people.
5. Targeting UNRWA and Palestinian refugees, The U.S. and its allies have cut funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) since Trump’s first term, and they have resumed these attacks by: Labeling some UNRWA staff as terrorists, Shutting down its offices, Halting vital services like education and healthcare. This is a deliberate assault on Palestinian resistance and an effort to support the Zionist entity’s genocidal policies through U.S. imperialist backing.
6. From words to action: The need for reconstruction. While we appreciate the theoretical condemnations of the U.S. displacement call, these positions must be translated into concrete action by initiating the reconstruction of the destruction caused by the Zionist aggression.
7. Holding perpetrators accountable, We call on all actors in international justice to take legal action against any party obstructing reconstruction efforts, as such obstruction amounts to complicity in the aggression.
8. Strengthening support for Palestinian resistance, We urge: International forces to continue their popular and material support for Palestinian resistance, adapting to the evolving situation on the ground. Arab parties and masses to mobilize their strength and overcome the passivity that has characterized previous phases.
